RITUALS
The current wave of following habits of the rich and successful has always interested me. It’s become an obsession for many to adopt their idols exact routines and behaviours; by following a detailed checklist of rituals throughout the day. The series “Rituals” takes a tongue-in-cheek approach of this concept by exploring morning breakfast rituals.
“Rituals” was executed in a precise, almost military fashion by utilizing hard light, bold subjects, and muted tones of browns and yellows. The entire series was created by capturing the image through the ground-glass focusing screen of an old medium format film camera and by applying camera movements to manipulate and control focus.
